1. What inspired you to bring the TRU event to Skopje, and what unique elements did you want to highlight in this location?
Bringing TRU to Skopje was inspired by our strong connection with the city and its vibrant tech and recruitment community. We started Frontwise Group in Skopje 10 years ago, focusing on sourcing-based recruitment for the Dutch market, and played a significant role in developing the recruitment profession in Macedonia. By hosting TRU in Skopje, we aim to highlight the city’s growing relevance in the tech recruitment scene and encourage more local recruiters to embrace sourcing-based approaches, which are crucial to staying relevant in a rapidly evolving industry.
2. What has been the most rewarding and challenging aspect of organizing this year’s event in Skopje?
The most rewarding aspect has been the opportunity to connect with local and international recruitment professionals and showcase Skopje as a hub for tech-savvy recruitment. The biggest challenge, however, was ensuring the event reflects the interactive and dynamic spirit of TRU while also integrating local cultural nuances to make it resonate with the Skopje audience.
3. How did you decide on the topics and sessions for this year’s TRU in Skopje? Were there any local trends or challenges that influenced the agenda?
The topics and sessions were chosen to reflect both global recruitment trends and local market needs. We considered the rapid technological advancements in recruitment and the importance of sourcing-based approaches, which align with the challenges faced by recruiters in Macedonia. Our aim was to address these topics head-on, fostering discussions that are highly relevant to the local audience.
4. What do you hope attendees will take away from this year’s TRU event in Skopje that they might not experience at other locations?
We hope attendees will leave with a deep appreciation for the unique, interactive format of TRU and the value of embracing technology in recruitment. Skopje’s event offers a distinct blend of international insights and local expertise, with a strong emphasis on community building. Attendees will experience the vibrant, non-traditional atmosphere that sets TRU apart from conventional conferences.
5. Are there any specific trends or issues in recruitment that the event aims to address?
The event focuses on the importance of technology and AI in recruitment, particularly the need for sourcing-based approaches to stay relevant in the evolving market. We aim to address how recruiters can leverage these tools to enhance their processes, adapt to rapid changes, and continue delivering value in a tech-driven landscape.
6. How were these speakers selected, and what makes their perspectives valuable?
Speakers were selected based on their expertise in tech sourcing and their ability to provoke thought and discussion. Our lineup includes leaders from Macedonia, the Netherlands, Greece, and the UK, providing a diverse range of perspectives. Their insights are valuable because they bring a wealth of experience from different markets, offering a comprehensive view of global recruitment trends.
7. What advice would you give to those looking to make the most of their experience at TRU?
To make the most of TRU, come with an open mind and be ready to engage in discussions. Unlike traditional conferences, TRU is all about participation—there are no presentations, only conversations.
